Toward a more collaborative, more horizontal philanthropy focused on strengthening capabilities.
We strengthen local capabilities, connect diverse actors, and support processes that can endure over time.
We build networks that strengthen local capabilities and create impact beyond their immediate context.

When people and organizations have the opportunities to collaborate and strengthen their capabilities, lasting change is possible. Guided by this vision, and by the conviction that Mexico had given his family so much to build on, Don Valentín Diez Morodo founded the Diez Morodo Foundation: an intermediary foundation that brings together and strengthens sustainable responses to structural challenges in education, health, sport, and culture. At FDM, we:

Provide strategic resources.
Build networks for collaboration.
Strengthen institutional capabilities.
Create spaces for dialogue across different forms of knowledge.

Strategic priorities

Emergency preparedness and response
Emergencies test a society’s ability to organize, respond, and rebuild. Natural disasters, public health crises, and other emergencies can disrupt the lives of entire communities overnight, deepening inequalities that already exist.
Access to rights and essential support
Philanthropy focused on the future must also respond to the realities of the present. For many people and communities, structural change is essential, while the most urgent need today may be access to a service, an opportunity, or a fundamental right.
Multi-stakeholder investment for systemic change
Philanthropy can act as a catalyst by bringing together capabilities and resources that would be difficult to mobilize independently. We look for opportunities where philanthropic investment can open up dialogue, test solutions, generate evidence, mobilize additional resources, or help pave the way for change at greater scale.
Strengthening Mexico’s social ecosystem
A single organization, sector, or discipline cannot address the most complex social challenges. They require communities of actors willing and able to share knowledge, resources, capabilities, and responsibility.
